A smarter way to fix stone chips

Do your attempts to fix stone chips on your pride & joy sometimes leave you wishing you had never attempted the apparently impossible? Do you usually end up with a repair that’s much bigger than the original damage, and still visible because it sticks up above the level of the surrounding paintwork like a mini Mount Everest?
